9th annual Young Artists' Showcase

This wonderful arts event is sponsored by VPAN (Visual and Performing Arts Newmarket).  As part of its mandate to bring classical music to the area, VPAN is pleased to add the Young Artists' Showcase to its roster of concerts and to support young people who wish to make a career in the music field. Betty Taylor is co-ordinator of the showcase and has been working with Rogers Television York Region, the Newmarket Era, and the Aurora Banner, to promote this exciting concert....one not to be missed !

Christopher Norton Spring Master Class Tour Toronto

Participating students are expected to prepare one Norton composition from memory. Selections can be taken from any of the recognized publications (Norton Connections, American Popular Piano, Micro Jazz series, Latin Preludes, Rock Preludes, or any Conservatory Examination publication or any other books containing Norton compositions.) The Toronto Master classes will take place at the North Toronto Community Church at 7 Eglinton Avenue East on Friday May 8, 2009 and Saturday May 9, 2009 between 9 AM and 5 PM with additional spots in a Friday evening Master class. A few of the participating Master class students will be invited to perform with Christopher Norton at the Saturday Evening Gala Concert on May 9.
