Patricia studied classical piano gaining her first diploma from Trinity College of Music at 17 years old. She also holds a diploma from the Royal College of Music (England) and a Bachelor’s of Music (Honors) from York University. She studied pedagogy with Rose Inlander-Gover and Tanya Polunin in London, England, and with Dr. C. Kop in Amsterdam, Holland.
Patricia has extensive teaching experience (over 25 years) and enjoy working with people of all ages. She teaches both classical and popular styles, and includes preparation for the Royal Conservatory of Music examinations. Her comprehensive approach to music training ultimately supports an appreciation and understanding of all types of music.
Students are given the opportunity to participate in auditions, master classes, group and solo performances, recitals and music festivals. The Rudiments of music are also taught as part of the practical lesson. Several of Patricia’s students have gained honours in music examinations and festivals, and have later pursued music careers of their own.
The main focus of her teaching is to foster a life- long love for music, while providing the necessary theoretical and technical foundation.
Students are invited for a free lesson and interview to discuss their particular needs and have a program designed specifically for them.
Patricia is also an experienced piano accompanist and performs as part of a flute and piano duo.
